Cross Country
The school cross country was held on Monday 18 May, with students taking on the course that began on the front oval before heading out around Wingrove Park. All students who participated should be congratulated for the effort, determination, and resilience they displayed throughout the event, with everyone striving to run to the best of their ability.
A huge congratulations goes to Toner House, who dominated the competition and finished as overall champions with an impressive 444 points. The event also saw some outstanding individual performances, with congratulations extended to all overall age champions for their achievements on the day.
Thank you to all the staff that assisted on the day to help supervise and encourage all the students out on the course. A special mention to Year 7 Co-ordinator Kathryn Boysen, who surprised students by joining the race alongside them. She finished the race with a smile and a respectable time—earning cheers and high-fives from students throughout the course.
The top 15 runners from each age group have now qualified to progress through to the Division Cross Country Championships on June 3. We wish all qualifying students the very best as they prepare to represent the school at the next level.

Year 9 Outdoor Education Lake Mountain
On Friday May 22 our Year 9 Outdoor Education class spent a delightful day exploring the sub-alpine trails at Lake Mountain. This trip was originally scheduled for 2 weeks earlier but was rescheduled to avoid the extreme weather conditions that included 50cm of snow and subzero temperatures!
Our day at Lake Mountain began with thick fog and a heavy frost on the higher points and cold clear weather for the afternoon. After walking to the highest point in the Yarra Ranges and cooking lunch on the trusty Trangia stoves, we returned via Stevensons Falls at Marysville.

Year 9 Recreation
This semester, the Year 9 Recreation class has been all about stepping outside of comfort zones and giving a wide range of activities a go. Students have been encouraged to try something new, work collaboratively in teams, and most importantly, have fun while staying active. Whether building teamwork skills or discovering a new favourite pastime, the class has embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm.
We have been fortunate to enjoy a number of exciting excursions so far, like Lawn Bowls, Fencing, Disc Golf, Ice Skating, Mini Golf and 10Pin Bowling giving students the chance to experience recreation in real-world settings. With a few more outings still to come, there is plenty to look forward to as the end of the semester quickly approaches.
It has been fantastic to see students supporting one another, showing resilience, and actively participating in each activity. See below for some photos of our students getting involved and making the most of these experiences.
