Belinda Recommends

Inkflower by Suzy Zail is a moving historical fiction novel about Lisa Keller, a teenage girl whose father is seriously ill. He has be diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and has been given 6 moths to live. As Lisa learns more about her father's past, she discovers the hardships he faced as a Jewish child during the Holocaust. The book explores themes of family, courage, resilience, and the impact of history on people's lives. I enjoyed the story because the characters felt realistic and the emotional journey helped me understand the importance of learning about the past. Although some parts were sad, the novel was inspiring and taught valuable lessons about strength, survival, and family connections.

Lunchtime Libraries - Visit any of our GSSC libraries daily for Lunchtime Libraries. Remember to pop out and eat your lunch first (no food in the library please) then come in at 1:40 to enjoy the space, play some games such as Guess Who, Connect 4, Uno and others, relax with a great read, or just catch up with friends.

Laptop Chargers - Your libraries now have laptop chargers available for loan. These can be borrowed from any library desk for part of the day (not overnight) and are scanned onto your student or staff library card – just like a book 😊
