CSNSW Aquathon
Pippa Wark, Samuel Wark and Reggie Stewart all travelled to Maroubra this week to participate in the Catholic Schools NSW Invitational Aquathon.
Aquathon is a multi-sport event that combines swimming and running (with a transition). The event challenged the students with a 100m swim and a 1km run. All three students showed remarkable endurance and determination across both the heat in the morning which was followed by the seeded final in the afternoon.
Pippa Wark- 6th place in the 10-11 Year Girls
Samuel Wark- 19th - 8-9 Year Boys
Reggie Stewart- 27th - 8-9 Year Girls
2026 Swimming Carnival
The St Xavier's Swimming carnival will be held on Friday 13th February.
Kindergarten students DO NOT attend the Carnival. They attend school as normal.
The ONLY Year 1 and Year 2 students who are permitted to attend the Carnival are those who can competitively swim 25 metres of any one stroke without stopping.
ALL other Year 1 and Year 2 students MUST attend school where lessons will run as normal. The usual drop off and pick up routines will remain for all Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students who are attending school that day, including school buses.
IMPORTANT- SWIMMING CARNIVAL TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2026
Due to new transport regulations, the school buses are unable to drop students directly to the pool.
All parents will be required to drop-off and collect your child from the pool. No students are to be dropped to the school.
Nomination forms will be sent out in Week 1.
We will need lots of parent helpers on the day (you can indicate on the nomination form if you are able to help).
Polding Cricket Trials
Good luck to Rex Plevey and Emma Gander who are off to Dubbo next week as part of the ACS Cricket Team. They will be put through their paces with the hope of gaining selection in the Polding Cricket Team.
ACS Tennis Trials
Next Friday, Daisy Baker, Maggie Gardner, Zac Tunbridge, Belle Nichols, Millie Lyle and Banjo Fitzgerald will head to Tamworth for the ACS Tennis Trials. If selected, they will represent the ACS at the Polding Trials early next year.
Primary Sport Electives
Primary students have been having a great time during their Friday Sport Electives.
We are very lucky to be able to offer some exciting options for sport that students may otherwise not be able to experience. Sports such as Circus Skills, Bike Riding, Golf, Pickle Ball and AFL were on offer this term.
NSW Schools MTB XCO Championships
Last week, Reggie Stewart participated in the MTB XCO Championships at Glenrock State Conservation Area. It was a very tough track and after a rocky start being knocked off her bike, Reggie recovered and came home with a very impressive 3rd Place. Congatulations!
