Festa Di Primavera
The Festa is a much loved tradition on our school calendar, an occasion to come together and celebrate all the things that make our school community the warm, welcoming and vibrant place it is. This year was bigger, brighter and better than ever! The event was well attended despite those pesky clouds, and the atmosphere on the day was, well, festive!
It was wonderful to welcome so many past students on the day, alongside current students and families, extended families and neighbours, new families starting with us next year, and even new staff who are joining us next year. The student performances are always one of my personal highlights (3 cheers for Oliver for coordinating!), embellished this year by our wonderful Zecchino D’Oro choirs and of course our sensational parent band, No Recess!
BSPS super-parents Peter Mattessi and Thea Lange coordinated the event with impressive skill, boundless enthusiasm and endless good humour. Supported by their extensive band of merry volunteers, it really was a case of many-hands-make-light-work. On behalf of the whole school community, I’d like to extend my gratitude to everyone who contributed, whether through a donation, box-maze construction, packing hampers, washing dishes, setting up, packing down, serving pasta, pouring prosecco, raking hay (yep, that did happen!), or simply adding to la bella vita just by coming along and joining in!
Special thanks to Kelley Mackay for her advocacy and organisation in making our very first waste-free Festa so successful from a sustainability point of view too - a fantastic achievement as a Resource Smart School.
Infinite grazie to our office dream team, Mary, Vicky and Sanae, who pull the strings behind the scenes and make sure everything ticks along smoothly.
Thank you to Co.As.It , our major sponsor, for their generous support of this event each year, along with the many local businesses who kindly supported us. Every dollar raised through Festa goes directly back into the school, and so far it looks like we managed to raise an incredible amount. We will update you once we finalise the proceeds This year’s proceeds will go toward much-needed air conditioning in the junior building and STEM room, new carpet in the foyer area, two short-throw projectors and a new sound mixer for the hall.

As a small token of our appreciation, we’d love to invite the many parents and carers who have volunteered their time to support the school in one way or another this year to join us for afternoon tea as we celebrate International Volunteers Day. 3pm, Friday December 5th in the staff room. Hope to see many of you there!
