Visual Arts, Photography and Digital Media Faculty

From the Co-ordinator of Visual Arts
Congratulations
We’re incredibly proud of Ella and Tanisha (CG12), for their Art Express nominations and subsequent selections, an honour awarded to only 500 of the 9000 HSC Visual Arts students and even less chosen to exhibit. We look forward to hearing what gallery has selected their works for exhibition.
Ella’s series ‘Drowning in my Sunburnt Country' features 12 delicate burnt sienna drawings that reflect on Australia’s distracted society and the fading appreciation of natural beauty. Her work invites viewers to slow down and reconnect with the quiet details of the land.
Tanisha’s ceramic piece ‘Fluorescent Footprints’ transforms ocean waste into artificial reefs, highlighting pollution through vivid neon accents. Inspired by Joan Ross, her work explores nature’s resilience and humanity’s impact beneath the waves. Through this work Tanisha challenges viewers to consider their responsibility for the ocean’s future.
In addition, Ella and Jay (CG12) were selected for the 2026 'Out Front' exhibition at Manly Gallery. The 'Out Front' exhibition is an annual event at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum that showcases the work of Year 12 students from the Northern Beaches area. The exhibition features a diverse range of artworks including painting, digital media, and ceramics. It is part of the gallery's ongoing commitment to supporting and nurturing local emerging artists and includes a youth art award.
Jay’s photo media piece ‘Momento’ celebrates the beauty of ceremony and creation, using symbolic imagery to reflect on time, mortality, and community. Congratulations to Ella, Tanisha and Jay on these outstanding achievements!
