Year 5/6 Blast Cricket School Cup Success
On Friday, 7 November, we sent two teams—Boys and Girls—to a sunny Jack Eddy Oval to compete in the annual Year 5/6 Blast Cricket School Cup Carnival. Both teams showcased not only impressive skill and talent but also outstanding sportsmanship, which was fantastic to see.
It was a successful day for everyone involved. The Girls’ team won two out of their four matches, showing improvement with each game, while the Boys’ team finished as runners-up, winning three out of four games.
A special thank you goes to Delaney, who coached the Girls’ team and provided invaluable support during both the tryouts and selection stages.
MAG Equestrian Squad Wraps Up Semester with Festive Finale
The MAG Equestrian Squad enjoyed their second-last training session for Semester 2025 last week in Rochester, taking part in a range of exciting activities. Students participated in Mounted Games with Miss Sweetnam and tackled Cross Country Jumping with Miss Briggs, with many experiencing the cross-country course for the first time or with new horses and performing exceptionally well.
The final squad session on Wednesday, 26 November, will be Christmas-themed, so riders are encouraged to bring their best Santa suits as we celebrate a wonderful semester of riding together.
NETFIT Clinic: Elevating Our Growing Netball Program
Last Thursday, 40 students from Grade 4 to Year 12 had an opportunity to be part of a full day of netball, participating in a NETFIT Clinic. The students were lucky enough to have the experience of elite netball players running the sessions. They were able to ask questions and get expert advice from ex-Vixen Kym Borger and ex-student and Vixen Reserve Academy member Claudia Mawson.
The students participated in a range of sessions:
- Warm-up
- Court and ball work
- Tactics and match play
- Healthy habits and cooking
- NETFIT HIIT session
- Recovery and ice bath
- Mindfulness
All students had a wonderful day and represented our school values continually. All coaches commented on the enthusiasm and the talent of our students.
“The NETFIT day was a really enjoyable experience overall. It gave us the chance to learn about different aspects of netball beyond just drills, including nutrition, wellbeing and the importance of proper post-game recovery. It was a valuable day full of smiles, helping us understand how to look after ourselves both on and off the court. Thank you, Mrs Pearson, for organising the day and introducing the NETFIT program as an exciting new addition to our school’s growing netball program.”

“NETFIT Day was amazing! I loved the recovery session and learning about nutrition because it really helped us understand how to look after our bodies. It was also so cool seeing the ex-Vixen player and learning lots of new skills throughout the day.”

“It was fun and interesting; I learnt some new skills and the bliss balls we made were delicious.”
