Farewell Miss Sherrin and Mrs Locke

At the end of this year, Jo Sherrin and Maureen Locke will commence their retirement from the NSW Department of Education. Miss Sherrin and Mrs Locke have both been amazing assets to our school for a number of years with Miss Sherrin as classroom teacher and Mrs Locke as our learning support teacher.  Both teachers have worked in our primary area since they commenced at Uralla Central and have involved themselves and their students in so many wonderful opportunities. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their dedication to our school and wish them all the very best as they begin the next chapter in their lives.  Keep in touch with us!

Secondary School Starting Time in 2026 (8.50am)

We are writing to inform you about a new initiative aimed at enhancing student wellbeing and fostering stronger connections between students, families, and staff at Uralla Central School.

From the first day back to school next year, all secondary students in Years 7 to 12 will begin their school day ten minutes earlier at 8:50 am each morning. This adjustment allows time for a daily roll call session facilitated by each year group’s Year Advisor. Classes will remain at the same times with school finishing at 3.15pm as we currently do.

The roll call will provide a valuable opportunity for students to check-in, receive support, and stay connected with their peers and Year Advisers. It will also enable families to more easily engage with the school regarding any questions about their child's learning, ensuring timely communication and support. Our Year Advisers are dedicated to working closely with students throughout the year to promote a positive and supportive school environment.

We believe this change will support student wellbeing by helping students feel more connected and supported in their learning at school. We appreciate your support in helping your child arrive on time so they can fully participate in this important daily routine.

If you have any questions about this change, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
