Remember to stay connected with your friends, family and community throughout this change.

While we all are navigating this new space of communication, let’s have a think about how else we can communicate mindfully with each other. Are you able to ring or text each other? And if you have friends further away there’s a lot of fun in writing a “snail mail” letter – this is a fun opportunity to share your week or month with a mix of writing and maybe photos of things you’ve made at school, sports that you’ve been involved in or places that you’ve travelled to.

It is going to feel very different without the immediacy of social media. Give yourself space to acknowledge and talk about how this new impact on the Social Media Ban feels for you. It may feel really awkward, like an uncomfortable “I don’t know what’s happening” feeling. This is normal during a period of big change. You don’t have to react to this, just give yourself some kindness, self-compassion and space to feel these feelings. In time their intensity will pass and you will find your new normal.

Please feel free to reach out to the Wellbeing Team if you’d like to have a chat.
