What's been happening this week?

JAPANESE CALLIGRAPHY
Year 6 students took part in a Japanese brush calligraphy incursion, exploring an art form celebrated in both Japanese and Chinese culture. Students learnt skills and techniques before creating their own impressive masterpieces. Each student chose a word that is significant to them as they graduate from primary school. Everyone was proud of their final piece and the meaning behind their chosen word. These artworks will become the students’ placemats at their graduation dinner.
1/2 TRANSITION
It was all smiles at our first transition session this week. Here our current Prep and Grade 1s enjoyed moving into their soon to be new classroom areas!
1/2 KICKBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Great skills, great team spirit and great fun!
BIKE ED FUN
On Tuesday, our Year 5 students rode to Elgar Park as part of Bike Ed. They did a fantastic job riding safely on the road and took part in several skill-building activities designed to improve their bike-handling abilities.
COLES EXCURSION
On Monday, the Year 5/6 students walked to Coles in Balwyn East to complete the $7 Challenge. Students could either work independently to see how much they could buy for $7, or join a group and pool their money. It was a great excursion, and the students enjoyed searching for yellow specials labels and then using the oven, microwave, and kettle back at school to prepare their lunch.
