Auslan News

This week in Auslan, our Grade 4 and 5 students have been exploring how to sign different types of fruit. They had lots of fun designing their own fruit platters and using Auslan grammar to ask their classmates questions about their favourite fruits. The data they collected was then presented creatively in graph form — a great way to combine language and maths skills! Students also enjoyed playing the Roll-a-Fruit game, which helped them practise their new signs in a fun and interactive way.
Our Grade 6 students have been busy completing and publishing their research projects on a range of inspiring Deaf role models. They shared their findings in small groups, helping to deepen both their own understanding and that of their peers. It’s been wonderful to see such enthusiasm for learning about the Deaf community and its amazing role models.
