Spotlight on Learning
Galilee Community
We are so proud of our students – our first week of swimming was a success! We saw some face their fears, others build their confidence, and all improve their skills! We are looking forward to another week of learning, fun and strengtheningour life skills!
Next week:
English: This week, we are learning the /ai/ay/ sounds! Students will be practicing saying, reading, and writing words with the /ai/ay/ sounds, such as play, sway, snail and train.
Mathematics: Next week, we will be learning how to gather data by asking yes or no questions❓. Students will practise forming clear questions and recording the responses they receive✍️. We will further be extending the application of data by exploring how the information collected can be organised and discussed 📊. We are looking forward to seeing students engage confidently with their peers as they build their understanding of data and how it helps us make sense of the world 🌟.
Social Emotional Learning: Next week, we will be continuing our work on body safety, discussing and identifying protective behaviours that help keep us safe! 🛡️✨ Students will explore safe and unsafe situations, learn ways to respond, and build confidence in knowing who they can go to for help 🤝. We look forward to supporting their understanding as they develop these important lifelong skills.
Religious Education: Next week, we will continue exploring the topic of Advent, identifying each candle and understanding their purpose 🕯️✨. Students will reflect on the meaning behind each candle and how it helps us prepare our hearts during this special season.
Auslan: Next week, we will be revising all the Auslan signs we have previously learnt ✋🤟. Students will practise using these signs and apply them in real-life contexts, building their confidence and communication skills in meaningful ways.
