Principals Message

Dear families,
I hope that you are enjoying some extra time with your children as we have professional learning today and the Melbourne Cup holiday tomorrow.
On Friday, an email was sent from our Executive Director informing you all that I have accepted the role of principal at Holy Rosary White Hills commencing 2026. This was a very tough decision for me to have made but one that I had to make for my family. As you know, I have very young children and, some may be aware, a very unwell father so being on the road for the better part of 2.5 hours per day is pushing it. I truly love the St Mary’s school and community and look forward to a thorough handover process when the next principal is appointed.
Please share the below link far and wide for any educators whom you feel would be interested in this exciting opportunity to lead our beautiful little school. https://careers.ceosand.catholic.edu.au/jobs/primary-principal-opportunity-st-mary-s-primary-school-rushworth-st-mary-s-school-rushworth-vic-australia
Staffing
Last week, following a thorough recruitment process, I offered Mrs Steph Sefton the role of MHIPS (Mental Health In Primary Schools) for 2026 as Mrs Brook will be on parental leave. I am pleased to announce that she eagerly accepted. Steph is a vibrant and highly qualified teacher who has built amazing connections within our school. She is passionate and cares about each and every child. Welcome to your new role Steph.
SIMON Everywhere/PAM
As you are aware, SIMON Everywhere and PAM are currently down in CESL schools. We do not envisage that it will be up and running again for at least another week. As such, all outstanding Year 3/4 families were sent a paper copy of our consent form for our upcoming camp.
Year 3/4 camp
We are getting very close to going on our 3/4 camp to Billabong Ranch November 12-14. Please check over the form and information sheet that was sent home with all details on it. If you require another copy, please contact Mrs Brook or Mrs Cummins.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Last week, we had our first session for the students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and completing their first reconciliation on December 4. It has been such a life-giving experience so far and I am so happy for the students (Tom, Sienna, Indy, Eleanor, and Tom and Angus from Colbinabbin).
Once again, I thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school. Please do not hesitate to come and see me or email if you have any questions or concerns.
Vin Ryan
