Year 9 Zero2Hero Talk

Leadership & Core Values

Last week, our Year 9 students took part in an engaging leadership presentation delivered by Zero2Hero, focusing on the theme “What it means to be a leader.” The session encouraged students to think deeply about the qualities and values that define effective leadership, both within school and in the wider community.

Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored key questions such as What skills make a great leader? and What values help you grow?. They reflected on the importance of empathy, communication, resilience, and integrity, traits that form the foundation of genuine leadership. The session also challenged students to recognise their own strengths and to consider how they can use these to positively influence others.

Importantly, the presentation aimed to prepare our Year 9 cohort for the transition into Senior School as they move into Year 10, where greater leadership opportunities await. With SRC (Student Representative Council) electives taking place in the coming weeks, this session was a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their personal values and aspirations as future leaders of the College.

It was inspiring to see the maturity and thoughtfulness with which our students approached these conversations. As they continue to grow in confidence and self-awareness, we are excited to see how they will step up to lead with purpose, kindness, and courage in the years ahead.
