Year Four

Our Visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens
On Monday, the Year Four students enjoyed an exciting day exploring the Royal Botanical Gardens. We wandered through the spiky wonders of the Cactus Garden, discovered the luscious, shady beauty of Fern Gully, and became keen-eyed ornithologists on a guided bird-spotting tour. Students learned about different plant habitats, observed and sketched unique species, and developed a deeper appreciation for how art is inspired by the natural world - all while enjoying a wonderful day outdoors!
In the Botanical Gardens we did three different walks - around the park, by the lake, the cactus garden and the fern walk. It was really interactive.

During our session with Paul we saw a rare species of bird, it was called the Eastern Spinebill. A fun fact is it can poke its tongue out 21 times per second.
- Dion
The Bell Miner is one of the most aggressive birds in Australia. They have a distinct sound.
- Max
We saw all of the scenery, for example, plants, trees and birds. It is a great place to use your five senses. I would highly recommend visiting The Royal Botanical Gardens.

Paul showed us around the sensory garden. Did you know that flower scents can help recall your memory from older experiences?

Me and my friends went inside of the dinosaur tree, there were lots of spiky plants.
