Foundation

As part of our current unit of inquiry, students have been exploring the central idea, 'People share stories to learn about themselves and others'. This inquiry has strong links to the Literacy Curriculum, through Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening. 

Students have been learning how to retell well known stories, such as fables and fairy tales, and have recently begun writing their own creative stories! They know that a good story has characters, a setting, and a beginning, middle and an end. They have been experimenting with including a problem to solve in the middle, and using simple sentences to write about how their characters feel after solving their problem. We are so proud of our writers and how far they have come this year in their confidence and abilities!
