Drama in Semester 2

Year 7

Juggling, balancing and human pyramids – oh my! The classes were fortunate to have lessons with practitioners from Yip Yip Circus, where they’ve learnt basic skills in juggling, acrobatics, partner balancing and poi. New this semester, some students have found enjoyment in playing with hula hoops and the yo-yo diablo!

Year 8

Students have been flexing their design skills in developing creative choices for Costume, Sound and Set designs after analysing the Australian script Lockie Leonard. Experimenting with the application of Elements of Design like Colour, Texture and Shape, students are developing their skills as designers for the text.

Year 9

La Commedia dell’Arte è uno stile teatrale tipico del Rinascimento italiano. Year Nine Drama students have travelled back to Renaissance Italy to complete a unit of work on Commedia dell’Arte. The energetic and dynamic characters provided the basis for students to develop their own skits or lazzi for performance. The students will present their work at the Lower School Showcase in Week Ten.
