Over the last week, our year 6 students have been busy preparing the 2 HPV vehicles ready for the Energy Breakthrough competition, which will be held next week, in Maryborough. Congratulations to Lachie on his winning design, and many thanks to Nicole for her time in overseeing the transformation with students. They have done a great job, and the vehicles are now looking very impressive!

We really appreciate the involvement of parents in this event and I would like to extend a massive thanks to Jarrod for his leadership and to everyone who has been assisting with weekly training sessions, and helping with the technical upgrades to ensure the vehicles are working in top condition. A big thank you also to Tanya, Krista and Emily who spent yesterday in the kitchen, cooking up a storm to feed the hungry campers. The delicious smells were hard to resist, so camp is looking that much more exciting! Finally, I would also like to acknowledge our sponsors for their support of this event. A big thank you to the Bendigo Bank, Ortho Ski, the Upper Kiewa Valley Uniting Church Opportunity Shop and Kusch Engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students, which has been made possible by the incredible support of our community. Thank you!

Last Friday, students in Prep-2 travelled to Dederang for the annual Junior Sports day. Many thanks to Dederang PS for their organisation and to Ellen, Kim, Erin and Priscilla for their support on the day. The students had a great day out and there were plenty of weary children on the bus ride back!
Parent-teacher meetings will be held next week for students in Prep - 5. Bookings can be made via COMPASS, and are subject to teacher availability. If you are unable to meet during this time, please contact your child's teacher to arrange an alternate time.

On Tuesday, we held our first Prep transition activity. The children, supported by Ellen and the kinder teachers, participated in a tour of the school, followed by a variety of activities in the classroom and a play on the playground. Transition activities will continue each Tuesday for the next four weeks.

Thank you to Cleo, Sebastian, Goldie, Ollie, Chili, Kit, Erin and Christian for their participation at Tuesday's Remembrance Day service. Despite some fairly challenging weather conditions, the students proudly respresented our school, to lay a wreath on behalf of our school community.
Today, there was much excitement as year 3 and 4 headed off to Howman's Camp. Over the course of the two day camp, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of adventure activities, such as archery, orienteering, high ropes, the big swing and the climbing wall.

At school, today students in Year 5 and 6 joined with other students in Year 5-7, to participate in a student voice forum. The forum, which was supported by the Respectful Relations team from our local region, was led by students from each of the schools. Throughout the day, students explored themes such as diversity and inclusion, student voice, agency and leadership.

This Sunday, our winning team from the Kids in Space competition will head to Adelaide to participate in the National Showcase event. In preparation for this event, students have been reflecting on the questions they were asked at the state showcase, and have been making some modifications to their design. On Monday, students will present their updated project to the judges and other state and territory winners.
