Embracing friendship and patience in our ELC community

Our Preschoolers have truly embraced the spirit of our weekly assemblies. Each week, we gather for a time of devotion, reflection, and connection, exploring what it means to follow in Jesus' Friendship Footprints. Over the past few weeks, our children have discovered that Jesus shows us how to be trusted friends, respectful friends and most recently, patient friends.

These meaningful messages have encouraged our Preschool community to pause and reflect on their own friendships and daily interactions. For many of our children, this reflection also connects to their excitement and sometimes a little nervousness as they prepare for the next stage of their learning journey.

As we move through Term 4, it seems time flies by so quickly! Yet, as one of our wise Preschoolers so beautifully reminded us, “You have to be patient, it will come.” Such a simple yet profound reminder that patience allows us to fully appreciate each moment, especially during a term filled with growth, transitions, and celebrations.

Our recent Sports Day was a wonderful example of this spirit in action. The day was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a strong sense of family and community. Children, staff, and families came together to cheer one another on and celebrate effort, teamwork, and joy. As we reflected on this special day within our ELC, we could see so clearly how the values shared in our Assemblies—trust, respect, patience, and friendship—shone brightly in every interaction.

As we continue this term, we look forward to more opportunities to learn, grow, and walk together in Jesus' friendship footprints — with kindness in our hearts and patience in our steps.
