Year 7 Update: Reflect, Respect & Reach for Success!

As we move through Term 4, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate our amazing Year 7 students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and positive attitude throughout the year. You’ve made incredible progress—both academically and personally—and it’s wonderful to see how far you’ve come since the start of the year.

Now is a great time for students to pause and reflect on their learning journey. Think about what you’ve achieved, what challenges you’ve overcome, and the goals you’d like to set for the remainder of the year. Reflection helps us grow and prepares us for the exciting learning still ahead!

A friendly reminder to all students

Let’s continue showing our school values every day. Respectful behaviour towards teachers, classmates, and learning spaces creates a positive environment where everyone can thrive. Listening carefully, following instructions and supporting each other helps make our classrooms safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Top Study Tips for Success

  • Stay organised Use a planner or digital calendar to track

  • Study smart: Break your study sessions into short, focused chunks with regular breaks.

  • Ask questions: Don’t be afraid to seek help from teachers or peers when you’re unsure.

  • Review regularly: Spend 10 minutes a day revisiting class notes to keep information fresh.

  • Look after yourself: Sleep, healthy snacks, and outdoor breaks all help your brain perform at its best!

Keep up the wonderful effort Year 7s—you’re setting yourselves up for a strong finish to the year!

Year 7 Science Zoo Excursion Reminder

Our Year 7 Science students are gearing up for an exciting hands-on learning experience at the Zoo! This excursion will allow students to explore animal adaptations and ecosystems in a real-world context—an enriching extension of our science curriculum.

Please check the schedule carefully for your child’s class day:

  • Monday 10th November – All Hotham classes

  • Tuesday 11th November – All Macedon classes

  • Wednesday 12th November – All Stirling classes

Students will need to bring a packed lunch, water bottle, and wear PE school uniform including a hat. Food and drinks can be bought from the vendors at the zoo. Please keep in mind that debit card payments are preferred.

More information about ‘what to bring’, etc can be found on Compass, or your student can ask their science teacher for more information.

We can’t wait for this exciting learning adventure and look forward to seeing our Year 7 scientists in action!
