Pick up arrangements

We would like to trial a new pick up format starting tomorrow - Wednesday 12th. Parents will need to come to the gate to collect their children who will remain seated on the bench seats inside the fence.  It will be a good time to start with the Infants as Primary will be on excursion.

📧 Excursion Reminder: Lake Keepit

Dear Y3/4/5/6 Parents and Carer's,

We are so excited about the excursion to Lake Keepit tomorrow, Wednesday, November 12th!

Students DO NOT NEED a packed lunch or morning tea as it will be provided when they arrive at Lake Keepit.

Here is a reminder of a few important details for the trip.

Clothing and Packing:  Students should wear casual clothes for the duration of the excursion. A detailed packing list was sent home with each student. If you require a new copy of the list, please contact the office today and we will promptly send another one home.

Departure and Arrival

  • Arrival Time: Students need to be at school as close to 8:30 am as possible.
  • Departure Time: The bus will leave at 9:00 am sharp tomorrow.
  • Luggage/Medication Drop-off: We will arrange luggage and medication at the end of the driveway upon arrival.

Medications

Please place all required medications into a zip-lock bag along with the completed Medication Appendix form (which was previously sent home).

  1. Food and Dietary Concerns

We understand that some students may have specific food preferences. If you are concerned about your child's meal options, we are happy for you to supply a healthy alternative for them (e.g., Up and Go drinks).

Please note: We are encouraging healthy eating and ask that alternatives do not include lollies, chips, chocolates, or other junk food.

  • Delivery: Please give any alternative food or drink items directly to a teacher in the morning with your child's name on the items.

Return

The bus is scheduled to return on Friday, November 14th, in time for usual afternoon arrangements.

Thank you for your cooperation! We look forward to a fantastic trip.

Wii Gaay Residential Hub 2

Last week Sienna , Brooklyn  and I had the privilege to attend the Wii Gaay residential Hub 2 at Dubbo with 25 other students, AEA’s and teachers from the Armidale Diocese.  The Wii Gaay learning Hub consists of 3 learning rotations: literacy, numeracy and IT.  The cultural theme this year is The Next Generation “Strength, Vision and Legacy”. The assignment for the Hub was to interview an elder of the community. Sienna and Brooklyn interviewed Uncle Peter Allan.

We went on country with Uncle Lewis (an elder from the Dubbo area). He showed us some scar trees, grinding rocks and he told us stories through his didgeridoo playing.

Sienna, Brooklyn and the other students worked very hard, so they were able to go to Dubbo Zoo as a treat.

This was Sienna’s last Wii Gaay because she is off to high school next year.

Miss Allan
