Leadership & Management

Management encompasses the following areas: Organisation, Structures, Resource Management, Staff Wellbeing, and Professional Learning.

St Fidelis School is committed to the care, wellbeing and protection of children , young people and vulnerable people in our community.

Dear Parents and Carers,

As many of you know, schools across Australia are facing ongoing teacher shortages and increased workloads, challenges that have continued to grow since the COVID pandemic. This is impacting all education systems nationwide.

Our teachers at St Fidelis dedicate many hours outside the school day to planning, assessment, documentation and compliance. Much of this work happens quietly behind the scenes, and last week’s GEM Day (Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness)  was a beautiful reminder of the care, commitment and generosity our staff bring to your children every single day.

Despite the challenges, our teachers remain deeply committed to giving your children the best education possible, helping them grow to be happy, healthy, resilient and independent learners, and working in partnership with you to support their wellbeing and learning.

November 13th was World Kindness Day, and we are reminded of the power of small acts of kindness. Thank you for the kindness, understanding and support you show our staff as we continue to navigate these pressures together.

STEMMAD NATIONALS

Good luck to Joe Frazzetto and the SENSOCANE team as they travel to Adelaide to compete on Tuesday, November 18th.

This incredible opportunity comes after their outstanding performance at the STEMMAD Showcase we held at St Fidelis last term, with several schools coming to our school to showcase their prototype and idea. Mr. Frazzetto and Ms. Pirrotta will join the children and their families on Tuesday.

We are so proud of this amazing achievement and wish the team all the best as they showcase their talents in Adelaide. Go, SENSO CANE!!

Sacrament Dates for 2026

I understand that many parents are eager to know the Sacrament dates for 2026. This week, I will be meeting with our  Parish Priests and the Principals of the other schools to finalise the dates.

I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process. I aim to share the finalised dates with you in next week’s newsletter. Thank you for your understanding.

School Improvements

Every few years, we undertake improvement works across the school to ensure our facilities remain safe, modern and supportive of high-quality learning for all children. At the moment, we are refurbishing the current Italian room and common area outside this room, including fresh paint, new doors, new carpet, new blinds and bag storage. The stairwell leading to these areas has also been painted, tying in with the new refurbishment from a few years ago.

As these works progress, there may be some minor disruptions to Italian and Art classes over the next few weeks. We will do our best to minimise any impact on learning and keep things running smoothly for the students.

Looking ahead, our aim is to refurbish the inside of the Art Room in the following year, continuing our commitment to providing the very best learning environment for all students.

Thank you for your understanding as these improvements take place.
