Huge congratulations to Ike, Molly, Gracie, and Anna who represented ACPS at the Regional Cross Country Championships at Yarra Glen in early June!
All four runners showed incredible determination and speed on the course. Ike secured a well-deserved 19th place, while Molly achieved an impressive 9th place. Gracie absolutely smashed it out, taking out an outstanding 2nd place, and Anna followed close behind with a fantastic 7th place finish!
A big congratulations to Molly, Gracie, and Anna who have all qualified to compete at the State Finals in Term 3! Their dedication and talent have truly paid off, and the whole school community is behind them every step of the way. We wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming races – bring home the gold!
Well done to all four runners on a fantastic achievement! Your hard work and sportsmanship are a true inspiration to all of us.
The Preps have finished off the term with excitement as we started PMP (Perceptual Motor Program)in our PE lessons.
PMP is a fantastic program designed to help our youngest learners develop essential foundational movement skills. It's all about building a strong base for future physical activity and coordination, and let's just say, it's a whole lot of fun!
Throughout the last few weeks, the Preps have been bouncing with joy as they practice catching and throwing balls, mastering the art of crawling through tunnels, and soaring high on the trampolines. They'll also be honing their balance skills and challenging themselves with a variety of other activities.
PMP isn't just about physical development, though. It also helps promote cognitive growth, improves social interaction, and builds self-confidence. By mastering new skills and learning to work together, the Preps will be building a strong foundation that benefits them not only in PE but also in all areas of their learning.
Welcome done to our team of grade 5/6 girls who made it through to the interschool sport finals for this term. The team played against Templestowe Park PS at Serpell Primary School in week 9. An amazing effort to make it to the finals.
A huge shoutout to our fantastic Grade 5/6 Girls AFL team who competed with passion and determination at the recent Gala Day coming home with runners up in the Grand Final game.
The girls put on a fantastic display of teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. They battled it out on the field, showcasing the skills they've honed throughout the season. What truly matters is the spirit and enthusiasm they brought to the competition.
Whether they were scoring goals, making crucial tackles, or simply supporting their teammates, the girls truly embodied the values of AFL. Their dedication to the sport and their commitment to each other were truly inspiring.
This week, our PE lessons got a super exciting upgrade with guest coaches from the Warrandyte Netball Club!
Throughout the week, WNC's experienced coaches swooped in to take our PE lessons to the next level. Whether you're a netball pro or just starting out, it was a chance for everyone to learn new skills, brush up on the classics, and most importantly, have a ton of fun!
The coaches were awesome – super knowledgeable and patient, explaining everything from perfect passing to fancy footwork in a way that made it easy to understand. We practiced drills and played modified games.
A huge shout-out to the Warrandyte Netball Club for making our PE lessons this week so epic! Here's hoping they become a regular fixture – we'd love to see them back again soon!
