Middle School

Grades 3 and 4

WOW - What a term

The grade 3/4 students have had another amazing term.

The grade 3's are now officially half way through their primary school years.

This term we have competed in cross country, been on camp, learnt to play GaGa, performed or watch Shrek, celebrated ANZAC day, learnt about First Contacts with the arrival of the European Settlers back in 1788, celebrated our Mums for Mothers Day, went to Currawong Bush Park, celebrated Education Week, took part in the Simultaneous Storytime with students all over Australia and completed our reading, writing and maths.

In reading and writing we focused on biographys and information texts. We added numbers, subtracted numbers, guessed numbers (well numbers of Easter eggs), graphed information and created number patterns in maths.

We explored information about life in the 1780's - what was life like in Australia and England. Students learnt about the first contacts and they researched information about an individual living during that time.

Next term we will be following the Olympic Games and learning about some of the countries and people taking part in the games, having whole school athletics and then possibly attending the district athletics. We will be celebrating our dads, having book week, writing poetry, learning more about symmetry, multiplication and division.

We wish you all a relaxing break. Enjoy the sunshine and see you back in term 3.
