Junior School Report

It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through term three. We hope everyone has settled back into the routine of school and we’d like to take this opportunity to welcome the families who have joined us in this term.

NAPLAN results have now been provided to all participating families so please be sure to contact the school if you have not yet received yours. We are pleased to see that our students are able to show their learning under test conditions.

It has been great to see so many Junior School students participating in sports and representing Lyndale with enthusiasm and good sportsmanship. With more sporting events to come this term, we look forward to seeing more students out there representing our school.

As well as sporting events, the excitement is building as we near show week for High School Musical. Don’t forget to book your tickets to this fun and energetic show. We have lots of Junior School students participating both on and off stage and we are incredibly proud of their efforts. Many of these students are also preparing for their role in this year’s State School Spectacular and it is inspiring to see how they are balancing their academic commitments with their extra-curricular interests.

Our year 9s have now completed their course counselling in preparation for year 10. The options that have opened up with the new VM pathway have been welcomed as an excellent way to ensure that students are engaged with their learning and can achieve their educational goals as they move into independence and adulthood. Year 8s will soon receive information about their elective subject selections for 2025.

Finally, can we please remind families to provide a note or update Compass if your child is late to school. Students should go straight to class when late but then bring their note to the Junior School Coordinators at recess. Students who are late will be issued with a lunchtime support session if they have not submitted this note from home.

Kind Regards,

Nina Kempinger
