Welcome

In this edition of MY FUTURE Careers News, opportunities to book in dates to visit University and TAFE Open Days are here. There is a plethora of experiences that our students are encouraged to apply for, whether they be STEM programs or filmmaking programs. There is also information for students to understand how the end of the financial year affects them in relation to tax returns.

Our Year 12 students are having conversations regarding life beyond the CLC gates. To assist our Year 12 students, I have advised them to make appointments with me regarding their future pathways and I urge you to encourage them to do so as well. Being prepared means that students should have a clear Plan A, B and C, as pathways are not always linear.

In the Year 10 space, we will be holding a Pathways program in the first week of term 3. Students will have the chance to experience all the VCE subjects on offer. A program will be sent out soon. There will also be sessions on the VCE Vocational Major (VM) and information on tertiary courses and alternative pathways to senior school success.

In addition, this edition includes information on

  • Focus on Open Day events at Universities.
  • 2024 NYSF National Youth STEM Summit
  • The ABC Heywire Competition 2025
  • How to become a Cartographer
  • A high school student’s guide to understanding tax.
