Dinosaur Week 

Students began the week with a mysterious discovery - a tray full of buried dinosaur skeletons which the Prep teachers uncovered whilst clearing out an old cupboard! We tried to imagine where they might have come from, and had a go at writing all about them.

Later in the week, we had a visit from Mike who brought a replica dinosaur skull with him. We used this object as a writing seed. We all took turns in handling the skull and then came up with our own stories and information texts about dinosaurs. 

Some students imagined what would happen if the dinosaurs from Melbourne Museum came to life, and some of them decided to share facts about their favourite dinosaurs.

It was amazing to see our Prep students beginning to write longer texts, and it really demonstrates the progress they have been making in writing.
