Inter - School Netball

Gouldie: Interschool netball went really well considering that it was this school’s first ever netball team and had an all girls one at that.

Lucie: The day started off really well, the first game was against Red Cliffs, after getting pretty well ahead there was a slight incident, but it worked out OK. After Red Cliffs we competed against Coomella, we managed to get a good, solid score, and we were able to keep getting the ball to our shooters. The points kept coming after that. We were in the semi-finals but we still had to face Henderson. After a gruelling match, we lost by only three points, but we didn’t mind very much. In the semi-finals our next match was Irymple, and we were thrashed. Their scorer was very good and their defence was strong. We only managed a few points against them. After the loss we were up against Henderson again, but we were wiped after our earlier efforts.

Lucy: Interschool netball was a whirlwind of excitement! The adrenaline was pumping during a nail-biting match against Red Cliffs, which unfortunately led to a little scuffle. But we still won! Our team then faced off against Coomealla, and guess what? We emerged victorious! Next we played against Henderson and Irymple, resulting in a narrow loss and a tough defeat. But hey, even in loss, our team kept their spirits high and smiles wide. Through it all, our school showcased some top-notch character traits, proving that even if you lose you can still have fun!

Mia: We had an amazing day at netball. We all tried our best and we were very grateful for the opportunity to go and play against other schools. In my personal opinion, I thought that our coordination and communication with each other improved more and more as we journeyed through the day. After each game, we would think about what to improve in the next game and we gained more confidence and hope each time. We were all really happy when we got into the semi-finals since we only thought that we were going to play three games.
