Book Week - Library News

Exciting days ahead! 

This year, we celebrate Book Week with Scholastic Book Fair.  Please take note of the following:

Book Week 17-23 of August

We have kick-started by reading shortlisted books in the library. We have artwork and other classroom activities coming up. 

Dress-Up Day will be Tuesday the 20th of August. 

The children are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite book character. The time for the Book Week parade will be announced closer to the date. 

Scholastic Book Fair 16-22 of August

This comes to our school biennially. Each class visits the fair twice:

Their first visit if for their Viewing Day (Friday or Monday) where each child will receive a Wish List sheet to fill in and show to parents. 

The Second time they come will be on their Buying Day (Tuesday or Wednesday) when they will be buying whatever has been selected in their Wish Lists. 

You can pay in cash or by credit card (please refer to the back of the Wish List for details). 

Proceeds of the sales will benefit our school and the library!

Now here’s something I hope will generate some interest...

We need parent volunteers to help in the Book Fair. It can get busy but quite fun, too.

Please mention your name, your child’s name/year and your preferred day (Fri/Mon-Viewing Day or Tue/Wed-Buying Day). 

I will do my best to roster you when your child visits.

Issue 5 has gone out and LOOP orders should be in by Aug 5. Please take note of the following offers:

Premiers Reading Challenge: 

Just a reminder that we are nearing the end of the Reading Challenge (end of August) so please ensure that your children’s reading lists are updated. 

They should have their usernames and passcodes to log on. 

Search VPRC 2024.
