🥳Amici Insieme🥳
Throughout Term 3, our Amici Insieme program has been running. The 5/6 students have been leading these sessions and we have loved the opportunity to be leaders! We call it Amici Insieme which means ‘Friends Together’. Here are some things we have done in each session:
Session 1
In session one we introduced ourselves to them with some name & personality games.
Session 2
In session two we started to actually get to know the students and helped them identify their strengths and give them resilience.
Session 3
In session three we helped students learn to include others and did some games on that topic.
Session 4
In session four we looked at behavior that is not okay and helped them with strategies to avoid it.
Session 5
This session was really important because the students learnt about bullying so we did a game where they acted out a scenario that they’d come up with that meant that they realized how being bullied would feel.
Session 6
In this session we reviewed pressure and pressed down on a balloon, sadly this meant they didn't all survive. Afterwards, we looked at what ideas they agreed or disagreed with.
Session 7
This session was really good because we played a lot of fun games. The first game was a lifeboat game where we split them into two groups and they tried to fit everyone in their group on a piece of newspaper. Then they would fold it and try again. It was a challenge but we loved it. Another game was the hula hoop game where we got them to go in a circle and try and get the hula hoop around without stopping holding hands.
🌜Unit of Work Expo🌛
The community of 5/6 has been learning about just how big this universe really is and also what is inside it. We have been learning about everything from the stars to planets, nebulas to galaxies. In addition to these topics we are creating sustainable models of the solar system. We had our expo to show our learning today! Thanks to all who came to see our work!
