Todd Woodbridge Cup Tennis Tournament – Forbes
Recently, 10 of our Stage 2 students had the opportunity to compete at the Todd Woodbridge Cup tennis tournament held in Forbes. This highly regarded event brought together young tennis players from across the region, providing a platform for our students to develop their skills and enjoy healthy competition.
Throughout the tournament, our players showed great determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm on the court. Their participation not only enhanced their tennis abilities but also built confidence and sportsmanship. We commend all students for their efforts and thank the families and Mrs Owens and Mr Browne for their support in making this experience possible.
District Athletics Carnival – A Day of Spectacular Weather and Outstanding Effort
Fifty of our students recently took part in the District Athletics Carnival, which was held under perfect weather conditions. The event offered an excellent opportunity for our athletes to participate in a wide range of track and field events.
Our competitors displayed remarkable energy and determination, representing our school with pride in events such as sprints, relays, jumps, and throws. Many students achieved personal milestones and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day.
We are pleased to share that the following students have qualified to advance to the Western Athletics Carnival later this term: Anabel Astridge, Bonnie Barlow, Lincoln Conn, Regan Fowler, Ava Hemming, Phoebe Hemming, Lachlan Howard, Louis Irwin, Ryan Leydecker, Giordana Ma'a, Rhys Simmons, Gus Slattery, Darcy Watson, Millie Williams and Jack Willott.
Best of Luck to Our Debaters at the Zone Final
We are excited to announce that our school debating team will be competing in the Zone Final this Friday. After demonstrating excellent critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking skills in previous rounds, our debaters have earned the opportunity to represent our school at this important stage.
We wish all team members the best of luck as they prepare to engage in thought-provoking discussions and showcase their talents. Their dedication and hard work have made us very proud, and we are confident they will perform admirably.
Maisie and Mum Take on the Lunchbox Rally to Support Cancer Council
Maisie and her mum, Alicia Hallowell are participating in the Cancer Council ‘Lunchbox Rally.' The event is a kid-centric charity for a team consisting of a parent and child (age 7 to 15) in cars worth less than $1500. Starting and finishing in Broken Hill the rally is a five day loop commencing on September 26. Their trip will take them out to Arkaroola in the South Australian Outback, via the red dirt!
To enter the event, teams need to raise a minimum of $3000 for the Cancer Council, and to date, Team ‘Maisie and Mum’ have raised nearly $5500 via their activities, donations and sponsorship.
They will be driving a 1999 Daewoo Matiz, named 'Bubble' or 'Blue Beetle' depending on what Maisie is feeling on the day, and I'm sure the girls will have an awesome time, as each day several activities are set up for the kids to keep them entertained.
More information on the event can be found at www.lunchboxrally.com.au and Maisie's individual team fundraising page can be found at
