Student Wellbeing

As we step into the Spring holidays, it is the perfect time to recharge, connect with friends and family, and explore new opportunities. With the term break approaching, it’s that time again to take a well-earned break, slow down, and explore the many activities available in our local community.
Outdoor Activities
The spring holidays are a great chance to get outside and explore our local area. You might enjoy walking or cycling along the Blind Creek Trail, packing a picnic to share with friends at Jells Park, or visiting the Tim Neville Arboretum to see the beautiful spring blossoms. Outdoor time is not only fun but also a great way to stay active, clear your mind, and make the most of the warmer weather.
Learning & Creativity
If you’re feeling creative, there are plenty of exciting opportunities nearby. The Knox Youth Hive is hosting a creative afternoon on 22 September, Coonara Community House is running a pizza-making session on 23 September, and Bayswater Library has creative workshops on 30 September. These activities are a great way to learn something new, meet like-minded people, and add a fun highlight to your holiday schedule. Whether you’re making art, trying your hand at cooking, or exploring a new hobby, creative time can be both rewarding and relaxing.
Spending Time with Friends
Holidays are also the perfect time to connect with friends. This could be as simple as organising a casual get-together, enjoying a movie marathon at home, or catching a train into Melbourne to explore free exhibitions at the State Library or ACMI.
Wellbeing and Balance
Alongside all these activities, it’s important to look after your wellbeing. Finding a balance between rest and activity helps you return to school feeling refreshed. Prioritise good sleep, healthy eating, and time outdoors in the sunshine to boost your energy. You might even set yourself a small holiday goal like reading a book or starting a creative project. Remember, holidays are not about doing everything but about doing what makes you feel refreshed and happy.
Breakfast Club
Students are warmly invited to Breakfast Club!
Start your day right with a healthy breakfast and some good company. Eating well in the morning supports your focus, energy and overall wellbeing. It also helps you feel ready to tackle the day!
Breakfast is a great way to connect with your peers, make friends and feel included in the school community. Whether you want to grab a quick bite or hang out before classes, you’re welcome anytime.
When: Every Tuesday & Thursday,
Time: 8:05am – 8:35am
Where: K1 (SLC)
Accessibility: Free and open to all students
This initiative is made possible thanks to our incredible staff, volunteers, and local partners. If you’d like to contribute or donate, we’d love to hear from you! We look forward to seeing you there!
