Celebrating Staff

Staff Wellbeing Week 2025

Last week, from Monday 8th to Friday 12th of September, our school proudly celebrated Staff Wellbeing Week. Staff Wellbeing Week is dedicated to recognising and supporting the incredible work of our teachers and staff. Each day was themed with a range of activities that promoted mindfulness, connection, and self-care.

We began the week with Mindfulness Monday where staff were encouraged to practice calmness and focus. Tea and guided mindfulness activities provided the opportunity to approach the week with clarity and balance.

On Tasty Tuesday, staff were treated to a selection of special snacks and freshly made smoothies by our Wellbeing Team. Complementing the day’s theme, massages were also available, offering a chance to relax and recharge.

On Wellness Wednesday, staff received wellbeing packs featuring Sukin products to support personal care and relaxation. During Period 3, all students from Year 7 – 12 wrote a Gratitude Letter. This encouraged our students to reflect and give back to our staff who have made an impact on them. It was an opportunity for students to express appreciation for all of those teachers and staff who have supported them throughout their schooling.

Thankful Thursday highlighted both appreciation and connection. Succulents were available for staff to take and a wide range of after-school activities were on offer for staff to participate in. The after-school wellbeing sessions offered staff opportunities to connect with their colleagues and build relationships.

These included a staff walk, an F45 fitness session, pottery painting, a basketball game, and the strategy game Blood on the Clocktower. The wide range of activities ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy. We also had an amazing Morning Tea that was organised by our Wantirna Staff Association.

The week concluded with Fun-tastic Friday, where staff participated in a lively trivia competition after School in the Senior Centre that was run by Erin Robinson and Luke Mason. Congratulations to the Team – ‘The Better Sub-School’ who have won two year in a row.  Staff also embraced the fun of an Ugly Dress Up Day. Massages were once again offered, ensuring the week ended on both a joyful and relaxing note.

In addition to the daily themes, the Wellbeing Buddies initiative encouraged connection and support between colleagues throughout the week, further enhancing the sense of community. Staff could spoil their buddy with kindness and gifts of appreciation and gratitude.

Staff Wellbeing Week was a meaningful opportunity to pause and celebrate, the wellbeing of our dedicated staff. We are grateful to all those who contributed to making the week such a success and look forward to building on Staff Wellbeing Week for 2026.
