Term 3 Week 8 - 19th September 2025

As Term 3 comes to a close, we are proud of the effort and growth our students have shown. They have taken on challenges with resilience, supported each other, and celebrated their achievements along the way. It has been great to see students developing confidence in their learning, working hard to achieve their goals, and showing persistence when things have felt tricky.

This term has also been filled with many exciting events and experiences. Students enjoyed celebrating Book Week, competing in our House Athletics, and marking 100 Days of Prep. They also had the chance to take part in science experiments, cooking activities, and the Father’s Day stall — all adding to the fun and variety of Term 3.

Thank you to our families for the support you provide each day. We wish everyone a safe and restful holiday break, and we look forward to an exciting Term 4 ahead.

Literacy

We have moved onto ‘cooking’ the last few weeks.  This is part of our procedural text. Preps have learnt to write their equipment, ingredients and recipes in step by step form then they have enjoyed ‘cooking’ ants on a log (celery topped with biscoff and sultanas) and fairy bread. I'm sure all would say the best part was eating their creations.  However I have seen a lot of enthusiasm in their approach to writing this term. I have been proud of many students challenging themselves and writing independently.  It has been a fun term with science experiments and cooking all while they learnt to write scientific reports and procedural texts.

We have been consolidating our work taught in term 3 and enjoying using concrete materials in many lessons.  We've done some term 3 assessments to check for understanding.

Inquiry/Science

This term in Inquiry, we will be exploring Indigenous culture, with a focus on the connections First Nations people have with place and Country. Students have learnt the importance of land, storytelling, symbols, and their traditions, and how these elements are deeply connected to identity and community. We have explored the country that our school is on, and talked about places that are special to both Indigenous cultures and ourselves.
