Father's Day Celebrations

This week, we celebrated Father’s (Carers/Special Persons) Day with several special events that brought our school community together. On Thursday, our much-anticipated Father’s Day Stall took place, allowing students to select a special gift. It was wonderful to see student agency in action, with children thoughtfully choosing items they believed would be well received. A big thank you to our incredible team of parent volunteers, whose organisation and efficiency ensured the stall ran smoothly. We hope the gifts bring joy and smiles to your homes this Sunday!

In addition to our Father's Day stall, we hosted our Father’s Day Breakfast this morning, featuring delicious cheese toasties and a cuppa. The event was a huge success, with many Dads, Pa’s, and Grandads joining us to share in the occasion. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended – rest assured, no one left hungry!

It was a fantastic way to end the week, not only by celebrating the important people in our students' lives but also by continuing to strengthen the connections within our school community.

Leading Instructional Excellence

On Wednesday, Mr Kirkright and Mr Dupuy attended a professional learning day on Leading Instructional Excellence. This session centred on the key elements of the VTLM 2.0, with a particular focus on cognitive load theory and how students learn best. The day also explored how schools can build effective engagement norms and routines to support students and maximise their engagement in the classroom.

This professional learning was part of a two-day series, and the key insights gathered will directly shape our 2026 professional learning schedule. As a staff, we will draw on these learnings to strengthen our collective practice and ensure that we are best supporting all students in their learning journey.

Student Support Group (SSG) Meetings by Phone

This term, all students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) will have a Student Support Group (SSG) meeting. To make things easier for families, these meetings will be conducted by phone this term. If you would prefer to meet in person, please contact the office or let you child's classroom teacher know.

Your child’s teacher will contact you before 17th September to either:

  • hold the meeting straight away, or
  • arrange a suitable time for the call.

The purpose of an SSG is to:

✅ Review your child’s learning and wellbeing goals

✅ Share progress and achievements

✅ Adjust or create new goals if needed

✅ Ensure supports are working well

Following the conversation, notes will be recorded, and you’ll receive an updated copy of your child’s Individual Education Plan.
