2023 Dux - Chris Tran

Outstanding Achievement

Chris Tran is our 2023 Dux with a perfect ATAR of 99.95. Chris has been a student at UHS since Year 7. His teachers note that he had always excelled in his subjects, particularly in Maths, but that his most notable qualities throughout his time at the school have been his gentle and kind nature, generosity and support of others, humility and strong work ethic.

Chris received Premiers' VCE Awards for both Year 12 Latin and Chemistry which he studied as a Year 11 student in 2022, and finished 2023 with a perfect study score in Physics, Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods, and a near-perfect score in English Language. He also achieved top marks in his university extension subject of Mathematics. This is an incredible feat that requires great consistency, rigor and attention to detail, and has been achieved by very few students statewide.

In 2022 and 2023, Chris was also selected to represent Australia in the International Maths Olympiad, placing in the bronze medal category in 2022 and silver medal in 2023.

Congratulations on this significant achievement, Chris! We are very proud.
