Nine Lives Book Launch

During the final Connect session for the year, UHS held the Nine Lives Book Launch.

Nine Lives is an anthology of memoir pieces written by Year 9 students. The collection reflects the diversity of their experiences and lives. Honest and moving, their pieces explore self-doubt and self fulfillment, the complexities of families and friendships, the profundity of death and new life. There’s love too, and laughter, first pets, new schools, adventures, homes and abroad. In short, these stories capture just what it’s like being a teenager today.

The exciting project is in its third year, and we are thrilled to have been able to provide such an enriching opportunity to all year 9 students again in 2023. The project was led by the authors, Paul Connolly and Nova Weetman, to whom we are eternally grateful for their dedication to this initiative and their continued cultivation of student voices.

Participating students each received their own copy of Nine Lives, and we encourage friends and families to read the collection. For any students from other year levels who want to read 2023s volume, copies will be available in the Library next year.
