End of Year Highlights

As the school year comes to an end, it is with great joy that we share highlights from the past week's events, filled with celebration, achievement, and camaraderie.

Junior School Presentation Night at the Lighthouse Theatre: A Night to Remember

Our Presentation Night at the Lighthouse Theatre was nothing short of spectacular! The evening showcased the talents and hard work of our students. From heartwarming performances to special awards, every moment was a testament to the dedication of our students and staff. Behind the scenes photos (below) captured the energy and excitement that went into creating this wonderful event. A special thanks to the Lighthouse Theatre staff and our amazing King’s College staff for their collaboration in making the night truly magical.

Year 6 Graduation Party: A Night of Fun & Farewell

On Wednesday night, we bid farewell to our wonderful Year 6 students with a graduation party that will be etched in their memories forever. Laughter, joy, and a few tears marked the evening as we celebrated their achievements and wished them success in their future endeavours. It was a beautiful culmination of their time at our school, and we wish each of them the very best on their journey ahead.

Orientation Day: Welcoming the Future

Thursday brought an exciting start to the next chapter for our school as we welcomed new faces during our Orientation Day. The enthusiasm and curiosity of our incoming students was heartwarming, and we are thrilled to embark on this journey together. Our dedicated staff ensured a smooth transition, providing insights into our school culture and creating an environment where everyone felt a sense of belonging.

As we reflect on this week's festivities, we are reminded of the strength of our school community and the collective achievements that make us proud. We thank God for his goodness and we thank you for your continued support. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

Prep

The Preps have had an exciting two weeks! We had so much fun on our excursion to the Cobden mini trains and playing mini golf. This week we have enjoyed making cards for our buddies, making puzzles and our orientation day in Year 1!

How crazy that this year is over! Thank you to all the parents for all your help and support throughout this year! I have so appreciated all that you've done for your children and their learning and your assistance on different excursions and in the classroom. Merry Christmas!

Year 1

It is hard to believe the students have reached the end of their journey in Year 1. We have had a fun filled year and each one of them should be proud of themselves, achieving many of their personal goals and forming great friendships that no doubt will be strong for many years to come. Here are the last snippets from our Year 1 class:

Dear Year 1, I love being in your class. I love seeing all of you. I love seeing your smiley faces. I love sitting next to you. I love learning each day. I love doing Art with you. I love playing with you. I love you class so, so, so, so much. You're the best class I have ever met. I love you very much class. - Georgia

On our excursion we did mini golf and we went on the trains. It rained and we got drenched. We saw beautiful water lilies. We went on the school bus. We played lots of games. We used bubble wands. It was fun. - Oliver

On Friday Year One went on an excursion. We did mini golf first because last year we did mini trains first. Me and Caprice and my mum got a hole in one. After that we had fruit snack. Then we went on the mini trains. I almost got soaked and then we had lunch. We played with bubbles. - Luke

On Friday we went to Cobden. Cobden has mini trains. First we did mini golf. Some people got a hole in one like Luke and Caprice. My group was with Luke and Julian and Jeremy and me. Then we went to the mini trains. Some people got drenched but I didn’t because I went on the first train. We saw some lily pads and my bus buddy was Caleb. - Ruhaan

Year 1 went to Cobden on an excursion to the miniature railways and mini golf. First we did mini golf and I got three holes in two and I also nearly got a hole in one but instead I got a hole in three! Then we rode the mini trains. I went on the one that finished second, then first and then last. The second time on the fastest one I got drenched by the pouring rain. - Jeremy

Year 2

Wow! The end of Year 2! What a wonderful year it has been! To finish up the year, we've been getting into the Christmas spirit these past few weeks, rehearsing for our Presentation Night (and what an amazing job everyone did), creating some Christmas crafts and doing some Christmas cookie decorating!

Students also created and decorated a Words of Encouragement book, combining lots of encouraging scriptures and messages. This week, the Year 2s created some beautiful nativity artwork, ribbon wreaths, Christmas crackers, and (of course) some delicious Christmas cookies.

I want to say a massive thank you to all of the incredible Year 2 parents/carers for all of your support, help and encouragement throughout the year. It means so much to me and I know it means so much to your children too, so thank you again! This has been the most special year with the most special group of students and I will truly miss them all and wish each of them the best for Year 3! These students are going to do spectacular things, and I cannot wait to continue seeing them grow next year!

Praying for a wonderful Christmas and summer holidays, that you will each have time for rest, for fun and enjoy spending some time with your family and friends. May God bless you all! Looking forward to seeing you all next year.

Year 3

Grade 3 has been celebrating Christmas with Carol singing, Nativity sculpting, sharing of food, friendships and good old fashioned savoring of the narrative that never spoils! Merry Christmas from Grade 3 with love (because He first loved us!)

Year 6

Year 6 have ended the year well. We've had Surf Awareness, our 'Boot and Scoot' end of year excursion and we've graduated from Junior School. It has been a wonderful last two weeks.

Junior School Art

As the year draws to a close, the Junior students have been busy finishing off cartoon and ceramic artworks and making their own unique Christmas ornaments.

The Year 6 students were presented with their 20 plus page cartoon magazine which they had helped compile from their One Day Studios excursion. What a great read!

You should begin to notice your child coming home with their first attempts at making a Ceramics pinch pot. I trust you will appreciate their bright and cheery efforts.

It was lovely to play with some wool, stickers and glue in the making of our Christmas creations. We hope you enjoy them and perhaps they will provide the back drop for some more good ideas for you to do with family over Christmas. Have a blessed Christmas!
