Year 1 Drama Workshop -  FAIRYTALE FIASCO

Today we did a drama workshop. I was a dragon and a pig. In the fairytale the whole fairy tale land was cursed and we had to figure out how to get things back to normal. I enjoyed the last part.

Manolo

Today we did a Drama Workshop. I was a wicked wizard and an angry wolf. In the fairy tale the mice chased the cats and the dragon couldn’t fly or breathe fire, they breathed tomato sauce. I enjoyed it when the witches were flying on vacuum cleaners and they were flying around crazy and when the seven dwarves were grumpy and we needed to cheer them up. Everything was BACK TO FRONT!

Billy Cart Incursion for Year 2

On the morning of Monday 13th November, I woke up and just remembered that we were making billy cart models at school. I got ready into my sports uniform and went to school. I was very happy! All my friends and I were talking about it excitedly.

Finally, our host Adam put us into groups. In my group we first had to read instructions to build a trolley using tubes, wheels and connecting clips. It was fun working it out.

After 20 minutes I went to my next activity. There we made mini billy carts with a partner and then we tested them on a ramp. Our model had 4 wheels, nuts, washers and bolts. It travelled far. I felt proud.

In the final activity we got to ride a billy cart and some Easy-Rollers. To move them we had to use our feet to push right and left to go forward. For the billy carts you had a driver and a motor (partner pushing) to drive. You had to wear a helmet and pull the rope to turn and change directions. To swap over you couldn’t just pull over, you had to go to the pitstop. After that we went outside onto the concrete because there was less friction. We split up into teams and had a relay race on the Easy-Rollers. It was fun cheering for each other. We thanked Adam for teaching us all about forces and motions with billy carts.

Designing Arcade Games in Year 2

What’s bean happening in Year 3!

As part of our Science based Inquiry this term, Year 3 have been exploring life cycles, and cycles in nature.

We have read and drawn about the life cycles of butterflies, fish, flowering plants and animals.  As a practical exploration, we are currently growing bean seeds, and documenting how they change during their life cycle by observing, measuring, discussing, drawing and labelling.

A new St Cecilia's Sports Polo top!

We are very pleased to announce that we have updated the sports polo top element of the school uniform. You can see in the image above the new design. This new garment is also made of a lighter, more breathable, flexible and quicker drying material.

Students will now be able to wear this new polo top as part of their sports uniform. For the time being and for a reasonable time to come, students will be able to wear either the new or old polo to allow a transition period.
