A Prayer for St Cecilia

Dear God, 

St Cecilia believed in you

and trusted you with all her heart.

She praised you with music and song.

We pray for all people

who believe in You 

and follow Your Son, Jesus.

May they enjoy the gift of your love,

and always share it with everyone. 

We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord.

Amen.

St Cecilia is the Patron Saint of Music.  Music is one of life's greatest pleasures.  We are learning more and more about the benefits of music and playing a musical instrument (even badly).  Whilst the first year of learning can be hard, the benefits drastically outweigh the pain. 

If you are looking for a reason to keep encouraging your child to play an instrument then this 4 min Ted talk is for you.  If you have never thought about getting them to take up a musical instrument please watch!  It is incredible what playing an instrument can do for the brain.

Yrs 3,4,5 Family Mass & Pizza - Thank you

Last Sunday we held the year 3-6 Family Mass. 

The occasion was well attended and both children and parents really enjoyed the opportunity to pray and play togther. The pizza was also very well received with a great social, community atmosphere during and after the celebration of the Mass.

We are looking forward to building on our family liturgies further in 2024.
