Medical Updates
CHANGES TO MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION PROCEDURES
St Cecilia's is implementing new medication administration procedures as required by all Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).
Under these new procedures, no medication can be administered by staff members at the office or sick bay, unless the student has provided the updated Medication Authority Form and a Medical Management Plan signed by a treating physician. This includes paracetamol, ibuprofen, naprogesic, antihistamine.
Please find attached:
- Medical Management Plan
- Medication Authority Form
The Medical Management Plan and Medication Authority Form have been added to the newsletter below.
Once these forms are completed by a physician, a copy needs to be passed on to the school by providing a hardcopy to the school office or sending an electronic copy to enquiry@scgleniris.catholic.edu.au . These procedures are now in effect for all new medications.
Anaphylaxis Plans, Allergy Plans and Asthma Plans issued and signed by a physician do not require a Medical Management Plan or Medical Authority Form.
For any inquiries please contact Kate Sutherland, Learning Diversity Leader on 9809 2142. Extra copies of these forms can be obtained from the office as we suggest you have them with you when attending your GP appointments.
Kind regards,
