Senior School News
Welcome Back to a New Term!
We are delighted to announce a smooth transition back into school life for our senior school students. Our students, well-rested and enthusiastic, are ready to embark on an exciting journey in grades 5 and 6.
This week, you might have noticed some new faces amongst our teaching staff. We're thrilled to welcome our new teachers, Bec Maddocks and Darcie Bull, who will be joining Dara Blake in grade 5 this year. Bec will co-teach with Dara in 5BM, and Darcie will lead 5B. Their seamless integration into our school community is a testament to their experience and expertise, and we feel fortunate to have them as part of our team.
For our Grade 5 students, an exciting adventure awaits at Camp Rumbug starting Monday, February 5th. The air is buzzing with anticipation for activities like the mud run, raft building, and other team-building challenges. We remind Grade 5 parents to review the Operoo sent out on Wednesday, January 31st, for a packing list and further details about the camp.
Our Grade 5s have already been helping our new preps feel at home here at Sacred Heart starting their 'Buddy Time' this Friday.
Our Grade 6 students are already living up to the high standards set by their predecessors, demonstrating impressive leadership and setting an example for the school. Our Leadership teams for 2024 are;

Well done to all participants in the swimming trials held on Thursday, February 1st. Your efforts and determination were truly commendable.
A quick corrections corner for the grade 6 video: In the Grade 6 video, it was mentioned that 6T would have P.E. on Wednesday and 6M on Thursday. This has been revised, and now both classes will have P.E. on Thursday. Additionally, Grade 6 students will enjoy Class Sport on Friday. Therefore, students should wear the full school uniform Monday through Wednesday and the P.E. uniform on Thursday and Friday.

Welcome to a brand new school year, 2024, here at Sacred Heart! It's us, your friendly School Captains—Paddy, Tilly, Kit, and Rahni and we are excited to be on this journey with you helping all students learn and grow throughout the year to be the best possible person they can be.
We congratulate our new students that have joined us this year for settling in so well to our Sacred Heart community. We are excited to lead the school and assist our peers where possible. This term is jam packed with fun activities and we can’t wait to get started.
We start off our fun filled year with Kaboom Kids on the 16th of February and the following week we have our Dendy swimming carnival. We wish the students competing luck as they represent our school. In the coming weeks we also have our School Athletics Carnival where all students will have the opportunity to compete in various track and field events. At the end of this term keep an eye out for the Grade 5 and 6 ‘Stations Of The Cross’ reenacting the path Jesus took during Holy Week.
A shout-out to our Grade 5 crew heading off to Camp Rumbug next week—have an amazing time!
Finally to our Sacred Heart peers please feel free to reach out to us in the playground if you have any problems.
Keep smiling, it's contagious!
From your 2024 School Captains Tilly, Paddy, Rahni and kit.
