What an outstanding response from our school community regarding our Christmas Hampers! Even during these tough economic times, the St Therese's community has donated so many food items and gifts. It is truly humbling to see so many people support this great cause for the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The Mini Vinnies Team have been instrumental in driving the hampers' creations by visiting classrooms and making multiple PA messages so that others in our wider community can benefit. Your generosity has been overwhelming and although the people who will receive the proceeds of these hampers will never know who you are, I am confident that they will be truly grateful.
The true meaning of giving without expecting something in return during this time of year is something that we are witnessing here and now as the birth of our Saviour nears and the message of Saviour endures.
Thank you to those family members who have joined us for our Advent Liturgies over the course of the last couple of weeks. It is a special time of year where we enjoy celebrating with students and their families, recognising the importance of hope and anticipation, watching and waiting for the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Advent Season is all about reflecting on how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ's birth in the world as it is today. It is a time for faith communities and families to remember, through prayer, reflections, special music, and good deeds what the true meaning of Jesus' birth is. This is prominent Catholic liturgical season we celebrate and embrace along with other faith events at this time of year that our student body are proud to share.
We enter dialogue with the students to allow them to understand and experience the real meaning of Advent leading up to Christ's birth and to go beyond the commercialisation of Christmas. Students and staff alike also engage in dialogue to recontextualise how Christmas might look from various lenses for various people.
The 2024 Sacramental Timetable is now available. Please take the time to view the attached timetable for next year's Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation scheduling.
Please note, there have been a couple of changes since last week, to the Confirmation Parent - Child Workshop dates.
A hard copy of the Sacramental Timetable has also been sent home to all Year 2-6 students for your reference.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity in wishing all our students and their families a very, happy, holy and blessed Christmas and a safe and healthy new year. It has been a pleasure working with families over the year and I look forward to doing so again in 2024.
God bless and stay courageous.
