Year Two Team News

with Steph, Joel K and Georgia

Hello Year Two families,

Another two fun filled weeks have passed us by and a lot of fun has been had by our students at the disco and on our excursion to the Botanical Gardens. We would like to thank all the parents that gave up their day to come along and assist during this excursion. The weather was perfect and our students enjoyed the minibeasts program and this learning will help build curiosity towards the work we will be doing in class. Moving forward, we look forward to seeing you all at the Seaside Fair this weekend.

Important news:

  • Grade 2 Assemblies: Well done to 2G and 2K who have done wonderful jobs at hosting assembly. 2J will be hosting with 1R on Friday 24th November.
  • Term 4 Oral Presentations: Our oral presentations have started and we have been blown away with the creativity our students are showing with their dioramas. It is also pleasing to see how our students have grown in confidence over the course of the year when presenting their presentations to the whole class.

Curriculum Focus: Weeks 9 and 10 of Term 4

Literacy: In Reading, we will be continuing to gather up facts when reading non-fiction texts. We will also be learning about different homophones.. In writing, we will continue writing information reports.

Numeracy:  We will be working on fractions of a number..

Inquiry: We will be revising our learning from our garden excursion to support our learning by evaluating different creatures and how they are suited to certain habitats.

Willy Kids: Through the pillar of responsibility, we will be learning about being ambitious and the different ways that we can do this at school.

Until next time,

The Grade Two Team - Steph Keswick (2K), Joel Kitchen (2J) & Georgia Grainger (2G)
