Wellbeing and Inclusion

Dear families,

As part of our ongoing goal to build positive learning experiences and outcomes for all our students and families in the Williamstown area, we have continued to build strong and positive relationships with our neighbouring schools, in particular Williamstown High School.

Over recent years, this has seen staff from both schools involved in Community of Practices (COP) in both Literacy and Numeracy, undertaking professional learning together, sharing instructional practices and developing and working towards common goals.

This year, we formed another Community of Practice on Autism and diverse learners, collaborating on our approach to supporting our autistic and neurodivergent learners as they transition from primary to secondary school. We worked together with the DET’s Education Improvement Leaders - Diverse Learners and involved specifically Williamstown Primary, Williamstown North Primary and Williamstown High School.

The collaboration between the three schools was outstanding and we are in the final stages of completing our Transition Protocol, which will effectively begin when students are in year 5 and aims to strengthen practices between the schools to provide the best transition experience for our autistic and neurodivergent learners and indeed for all our students.

Further, Williamstown High is running a parent information session on cyber safety on Monday 27th November. Please find below further details about the event including how to book tickets.
