Christmas in the square

We were blessed to again sponsor Christmas in the Square!

It was an opportunity to spread the love of Jesus through this free family event that featured live music, worship, a Christmas (Jesus-centric) message, fireworks, face painting, dancing and lots of joy.

We also gave away almost 3000 candles and 300 colouring packs at the Emmaus marquee, insisting to all who received one that they were free and leaving them with a heartfelt ‘God bless you.’

We know that God blesses us to bless others.

Old Scholar Nathaniel Wood of Contax Netball Club is currently in Singapore representing Australia in the 23 & Under Men’s International Series

A superstar Goal Keeper (GK), Nathaniel is incredible at leaping and defending and we are so amazed by his skill.

God speed, Nathaniel!

Women in STEM Scholarship winner

Brightlyn, one of our bright Year 12 students, has been awarded the Elevate: Boosting Women in STEM Scholarship

This gives her a substantial scholarship to any University of her choosing within the STEM field, access to mentoring and special invitations to events and networking.

Brightlyn applied for this by her own volition in amongst the busyness of Year 12 and we are so proud of her!

Year 12 Graduation and Speech Night

Congratulations to the Class of 2023! We had such a joyous family celebration at the Year 12 Graduation and Speech Night last week.

74 students graduated, receiving Awards such as:

• The Tabor Award,

• The David Martin Memorial Leadership Award,

• the ADF Long Tan Leadership Award,

• the ADF Future Innovators Award,

• the University of Adelaide Principal’s Scholarship Nominee and

• the AMPOL Best All- Rounder.

One of our brilliant students also won an impressive Women in STEM Scholarship. We are so proud of each and every one of our Year 12s and have been so blessed to watch them grow into the men and women of God they are today.

Please join us in continuing to pray for them as they begin the next stage of their lives!

Iwiri Christmas Party

Our Lands Trip 2023 students blessed the community at Iwiri with a Christmas Party!

Not only did wrap and distribute Christmas gifts (possibly the only gift they will receive for Christmas), they also cooked the Christmas meal, set up the decorations, sang carols in the language and played games with the Anangu children.

These students exude the love of Jesus and our hearts are blessed by them.

Emmaus Christian College Outreach

A heartfelt thank you to all the incredible families who generously contributed to our recent Barnabas Aid food drive

Your kindness and support made a huge difference. Together, we've collected a staggering 132 kilograms of essential products to send overseas. Your compassion will provide vital help to those in need.

Thank you for being amazing!

FIRST Lego League

Emmaus Christian College will be competing in the First Lego League National Championship South in Tasmania this Saturday!

We thank Defence SA for the generous sponsorship which has been used on our airfares.

First Lego League is a competition where teams of students design a Lego Robot to complete a range of challenges in a set amount of time. They also present an innovation project to solve a contemporary issue presented as a dramatic play. First Lego League promotes “Gracious Professionalism” and “Co-oper-tition” as Core Values of their events.

This year, the team has devised an innovation solution to help people in the entertainment industry to collaborate in content creation and production. The robot design is a culmination of many years of experience and has scored our highest ever score in the Regional Competition!

We look forward to competing and networking with other teams across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Please pray for safety for these students this weekend.
