Staff Farewells

As the school year has ended, we have farewelled a number of dear staff members.

As a tight-knit staff community, it saddens us to farewell fellow Emmaus 'family members'. However, we are grateful to God for the unique giftings and contributions of each member and pray for God's richest blessing over each of them as they move into the next chapter of their lives.

Farewell to:

  • Denise Strybos, Junior School Teacher
  • Susanne Milne, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, ELC-Year 10
  • Jonathan Carpenter, Head of Middle School
  • Pip Cooper, Junior School Teacher
  • Candice Hanchett, ELC Teacher
  • Jodie Stewart, Health and PE Teacher, F-2
  • Bahaa Ghobrial, Middle School Teacher
  • Matthew Rohrlach, OSHC Director South Plympton
  • Kiro Mikhaeil, OSHC Director Brooklyn Park
  • Lena Le, Learning Support SSO
  • Haritha Karl, ELC Educator

This year we say goodbye to a number of long serving staff from the South Plympton Junior and Middle schools:

Susanne Milne has served the Emmaus Community for 29 years in many different roles, but most of our recent students would remember her for her role as Gifted and Talented Coordinator. She encouraged many debaters, Tournament of Minds participants, Rostrum Voice of Youth and so many competitions that have extended our students in many ways.

Denise Strybos is a long serving Junior School teacher of 34 years and has taught so many of our students. She is well respected and has worked tirelessly to encourage and develop students from Foundation to middle primary.

Pip Cooper has worked in Foundation/Year 1 for five years and enriched the lives of our youngest students as they begin their journey at Emmaus. Her warmth and encouragement will be remembered by many families.

Finally, Jonathan Carpenter has held the position of Head of Middle School for the past five years and has served our staff community with great success on the Staff Wellbeing and Social Club, organising fabulous whole school staff events.

We sincerely thank these staff for their contribution over many years. We wish these staff all the best for their future and pray that the peace of God that passes understanding is comforting and present in their lives.

May God bless each of you.
