Year 9 Science

Over the last few weeks, each Year 9 class has participated in an incursion with the EPA. Environmental Protection Officers visited our classes to discuss their roles in keeping our local environment safe. They gave real life examples of cases they have been involved with, including diesel spills and large scale fish deaths in the local area. After a quick experiment testing the pH of various solutions, students headed out to the EPA vehicle to see some of the equipment used by the team. Students saw first hand how water monitors, drain cameras and thermal imaging is used in their work. We would like to thank the EPA for their informative visit to our classes that supports our Ecosystems unit!
