Thank-you!

As the school year ends, I want to express my gratitude to the Belmont High community for your support throughout the year.

Thank you for being the driving force behind our success, for your commitment to education, and for creating a positive and nurturing environment for our students to thrive.

I am thrilled to be continuing in the principal role for Term 1 next year and look forward to seeing what our students can achieve in the new year.

End of Year Activities Program

The end of year activities program is now underway. Today, many students have enjoyed a day of fun at Barwon Valley Fun Park for our school picnic. Thursday 14th December, students will be heading off to Adventure Park for the day. The rest of next week will be filled by a range of activities led by teachers from across the school’s learning areas. A reminder Year 7 students are not required at school on Tuesday 12th and Year 8’s are not required at school on Wednesday 13th. From Monday 18th December to Wednesday 20th December, there are no structured activities, but supervision will be available to any students that need to attend.

Grade 6 to Year 7 transition

We look forward to next Tuesday where we welcome grade 6 students who will be joining us in 2024 as year 7’s at the school as part of the transition program.  Thank you to Ms Amie Reusch and Mr Dave Ellis who organised the program and to our year 9 buddy students who will be helping during the day.

Curriculum Day for 2024

Each year, schools are allocated four pupil free days for the staff to conduct their curriculum and professional learning. These are a vital part of developing our educational plan at Belmont High School. The proposed dates for 2024 are:

  • Monday 29th January
  • Tuesday 30th April
  • Tuesday 18th June
  • Tuesday 30th July

VCE Results

Students will receive their VCE results and VCAL certificates on Monday 11th December.  Our careers team will be available onsite at school to discuss and help with changes of preferences for tertiary study. Good luck to all the students with your results.

Year 7 Expo

Thank-you to all the parents that came in to celebrate the work of our Year 7 students. It was so good to see the pride the students took in presenting what they had created over the year.

Awards Evening

On Monday 18th December, we will be holding our annual Student Award Ceremony. This year, the event will be in the Gym at Belmont High School and will commence at 6.00pm.

Invitations to the ceremony have been sent this week via Compass.  Students receiving sponsored, recognition, subject and sport awards will receive an invitation in the coming days. Year 12’s who will be receiving subject awards will be notified by phone once VCE results have been released.

If you have any queries, please contact our office on 5243 5355.
