From the Principal

Arts Festival

Congratulations to everyone involved in the outstanding success of the Arts Festival last Saturday. There was great attendance across the day and such a lovely community feeling and sense of pride in the school. The confidence of the students and quality of performances and art and craft on display is indicative of the wonderful learning programs and opportunities at TPS.

A big thank-you to everyone who volunteered on the day and a special thanks to Di Thornley, Antoinette Vaiano and Erica Pringle for their thorough coordination and organisation of the event and to the TIME teachers for preparing student performances.

Planning for 2024

Each year school councils may schedule up to 5 student-free days (when student instruction does not occur) for professional development, school planning and administration, curriculum development and student assessment and reporting. The first day of Term 1 each year must be a student-free day in all government schools to allow for appropriate planning to take place for the arrival of students. We will also be taking an additional student-free day at the beginning of the year for professional learning. This means that the school year commences for students on Wednesday 31st January. 2024 Foundation students will begin on Thursday 1st February.

Dates for the remaining student-free days in 2024 will be confirmed prior to the end of this year.

A reminder that we are a "SunSmart" school and hats are compulsory for staff and students on high UV days.  Hats not brought through the school must conform to the sun smart guidelines, that is, peaked caps must be of legionnaire style with the flap to protect the neck, brimmed hats must be 'wide' enough to be SunSmart.

No hat means that students will only be allowed to play in the shade.
