Craft with the Level 5's as new 'Buddy Level'!

Looking Ahead:

Numeracy

This fortnight, Foundation students will actively work with manipulatives, honing their skills in creating equal groups through sharing. In addition to this revision, students will delve into the world of counting and subitising, enhancing their numerical fluency with the help of engaging tens frames. It promises to be two weeks filled with hands-on learning and meaningful mathematical exploration!

Fun Fact: Subitising is the ability to look at a small number of objects and instantly recognise how many objects there are without needing to count!

Literacy

Our focus in literacy will be on letter writing. Students will have the opportunity to practice this skill by writing letters to their buddies and teachers. Additionally, our students will also be introduced to the concept and fun of alliteration!  The 'Soft g' and 'Soft c' sounds will be a focus in spelling and a text focus on the lovely story of 'Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley' by Aaron Blabey It's an  enriching period ahead, promoting essential literacy skills and fostering a love for literacy at SEPS!

We will continue mixing and mingling with the Level 5 students as the prospective buddies for 2024. Smiles are from ear to ear in both year levels! Specific buddies are yet to be officially paired as they get to know each other through their time together and group activities.
